Shabby Chic Altered Box and Mini

Hey Bloggers and Crafters! I hope this post finds you all healthy and well! So I have now completed my second mini album and this time it fits in an altered box! This was for a challenge swap hosted by Kathy of Paper Phenomenon.

The Challenge was Use one of the Michaels Dollar wooden mini boxes and alter it shabby chic and create a mini album using one 8 1/2" by 11" sheet of paper. The album had to contain at least one pocket. We also had to make a charm assembly and add it to the box or the mini. So here is what I created for my swap partner Debbie.

My First Complete Mini Album - IT's A BOY!

Hey Bloggers!

Boy it has been a BUSY month! And it is not over yet! I have been busy crafting and working...working and crafting! *WHEW!* I need a vacation! But first, I wanted to share with you a baby mini album that I made for my co-worker Tammi. She is having her first baby and it's a boy! So I was inspired by Teri of Teri Beri's Creations who made a baby mini album using the Sizzix XL Baby Onsie Bigz Die. It is a retired die but you can get it here (no I am now endorsing, that is just one place that I found it for sale!)

So I have for you an extra treat! A video of the mini and some photos! YES I FINALLY CREATED and FINISHED my FIRST mini album! It came out so cute I wanted to keep it! *WARNING! This is photo heavy!!** Enjoy! And Thanks for looking!

Welcome to the Sista's Scrap Too! second blog hop!

Though this is my first time hopping along, I heard that the Sista's had so much fun with the first hop that it was decided to do a hop once a quarter. This is the hop for the first quarter of 2011 and we are glad you decided to join us! We have 13 designers working on our theme for this hop, which is none other than Valentine's Day. We've put a twist on it, asking the designers to use the colors red, black, and white in their designs. We can't wait to show you what we've come up with! Some of the Sistas went the traditional route and used traditional colors for their projects. What would craftin' be without creativity and diversity?! We know you'll enjoy what lies ahead on the hop route!!
Remember, start at the beginning of the hop and work your way through each blog. Please leave blog love (comments) along the way and become a follower of the blogs so that you can see the beautiful creations year round and not just when we have a hop! There are Sistas who are offering blog candy and you never know where you'll find some so be sure to visit each participating blog. Thank you for joining us for our 2011 SST! Valentine's Day Blog Hop! We hope you enjoy the creativity...
Now for my project! You all know by now that I LOVE creating ATCs...well I have been at it again and created Valentines Day ATCs for a swap I am part on with the Ladies from Crop Chocolate! If you haven't heard about Crop Chocolate it is a ONE DEAL AT A TIME website with AWESOME deals on scrapbooking and crafting supplies. I LOVE it!! Check it out HERE! But I are the V-Day ATC designs I came up with...Thanks for Looking! Be sure to visit me again to see my new creations! You can click on each image to see it larger.
This is the group of 7 ATCs I made
Here are some close-ups. I did a number of techniques here. For the Card on the left, I first embossed the cardstock with a cuttlebug folder from the "Love is in the Air" set, then I painted the entire card with red acrylic paint dabber by Ranger and let it dry, I then inked over the painted image with silver pigment ink by Colorbox. I heat set everything, added bling and stickles and let dry. For the card on the right I took some thin burlap string, tied a bunch of knots in it and cut it into strips, I then attached it to the heart and adhered it with glue to the back of the heart. I made the sentiment on my computer and ran the paper through my printer.

For the candy box and treats, I used Disney "Love Always" Cuttlebug die and embossing folder set and first cut out the shapes and embossed on it. I then inked over the raised image and adhered to the ATC card. I pop dotted the red candy box for some dimension. I then spelled out the words "sweets for my sweet" with the DYNAMO label maker and added it to the card.
For this ATC I used the mini Heart and wings punch by EK Success and punched out the hearts out of different paper and the wings white. I then added adhesive to the red heart and all the wings with my Xyron "X" create a sticker maker and added white and red fun flock to the shapes to make it fuzzy. I added the hearts and wings pop dotted to the card and added bling and wrote out in red stickles the phrase "My Heart Flutters for You" Well the word "heart" is implied.
Last but not least, for this ATC, I printed a valentine bingo game card really tiny, and outlined the word BING in black diamond stickles. I added a large red bling for the "O" and added a small punched heart in the middle and some black pom pom ribbon to the bottom.

THAT'S IT FOLKS!! Thanks for looking at my creations! I hope you enjoyed looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them! Now you know we can't have a Valentines Hop without something SWEET! So how about some SWEET BLOG CANDY?! Just leave a comment and tell me which of these ATCs you like the most and become a follower of my blog so that I can continue to share my creations with you! I will use to draw a number from the total comments left for some SWEET SURPRISE SST V-Day Hop Blog Candy! I will post what the candy is when I draw a winner but I promise you it will be SWEET! You have until 12 Noon EST on Monday February 14th to enter!
