Welcome to the Sista's Scrap Too! second blog hop!

Though this is my first time hopping along, I heard that the Sista's had so much fun with the first hop that it was decided to do a hop once a quarter. This is the hop for the first quarter of 2011 and we are glad you decided to join us! We have 13 designers working on our theme for this hop, which is none other than Valentine's Day. We've put a twist on it, asking the designers to use the colors red, black, and white in their designs. We can't wait to show you what we've come up with! Some of the Sistas went the traditional route and used traditional colors for their projects. What would craftin' be without creativity and diversity?! We know you'll enjoy what lies ahead on the hop route!!
Remember, start at the beginning of the hop and work your way through each blog. Please leave blog love (comments) along the way and become a follower of the blogs so that you can see the beautiful creations year round and not just when we have a hop! There are Sistas who are offering blog candy and you never know where you'll find some so be sure to visit each participating blog. Thank you for joining us for our 2011 SST! Valentine's Day Blog Hop! We hope you enjoy the creativity...
Now for my project! You all know by now that I LOVE creating ATCs...well I have been at it again and created Valentines Day ATCs for a swap I am part on with the Ladies from Crop Chocolate! If you haven't heard about Crop Chocolate it is a ONE DEAL AT A TIME website with AWESOME deals on scrapbooking and crafting supplies. I LOVE it!! Check it out HERE! But I digress...here are the V-Day ATC designs I came up with...Thanks for Looking! Be sure to visit me again to see my new creations! You can click on each image to see it larger.
This is the group of 7 ATCs I made
Here are some close-ups. I did a number of techniques here. For the Card on the left, I first embossed the cardstock with a cuttlebug folder from the "Love is in the Air" set, then I painted the entire card with red acrylic paint dabber by Ranger and let it dry, I then inked over the painted image with silver pigment ink by Colorbox. I heat set everything, added bling and stickles and let dry. For the card on the right I took some thin burlap string, tied a bunch of knots in it and cut it into strips, I then attached it to the heart and adhered it with glue to the back of the heart. I made the sentiment on my computer and ran the paper through my printer.

For the candy box and treats, I used Disney "Love Always" Cuttlebug die and embossing folder set and first cut out the shapes and embossed on it. I then inked over the raised image and adhered to the ATC card. I pop dotted the red candy box for some dimension. I then spelled out the words "sweets for my sweet" with the DYNAMO label maker and added it to the card.
For this ATC I used the mini Heart and wings punch by EK Success and punched out the hearts out of different paper and the wings white. I then added adhesive to the red heart and all the wings with my Xyron "X" create a sticker maker and added white and red fun flock to the shapes to make it fuzzy. I added the hearts and wings pop dotted to the card and added bling and wrote out in red stickles the phrase "My Heart Flutters for You" Well the word "heart" is implied.
Last but not least, for this ATC, I printed a valentine bingo game card really tiny, and outlined the word BING in black diamond stickles. I added a large red bling for the "O" and added a small punched heart in the middle and some black pom pom ribbon to the bottom.

THAT'S IT FOLKS!! Thanks for looking at my creations! I hope you enjoyed looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them! Now you know we can't have a Valentines Hop without something SWEET! So how about some SWEET BLOG CANDY?! Just leave a comment and tell me which of these ATCs you like the most and become a follower of my blog so that I can continue to share my creations with you! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! And my latest ATC creation for you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR MY BEAUTIFUL Bloggers!! I hope that you all have a blessed and prosperous New Year and that all your prayers are answered! Make it a scrappy New Year and USE YOUR STASH!! That is one of my Resolutions! I love learning new techniques...and unfortunately there is always something that I need to try that technique that I don't have or must get...well this year...I vow to SUBSTITUTE SUBSTITUTE SUBSTITUTE as much as possible and USE MY STASH! :o} Wish me luck on that! LOL Anyway...before I go to bed I thought I would post the ATCs I created for my December ATC swap at the Scrap Shack ...I think these are my best ones yet! I am super excited that they came out more or less how I envisioned them too...but WOW was it a lot of inking and work with all the little bits and pieces...I got my inspiration from one of Tim Holtz's 12 tags of Christmas from 2008. I basically scaled it down from an 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 tag (I think that is how big his are...it is the #8 tags) to a 2.5x3.5 ATC!!! Feast your eyes!!! TFL!

Black and Vintage ATC Swap

Hey Crafters and Bloggers!

The theme for the November ATC swap I was in at the ScrapShack was "Black and Vintage."  We had to create an ATC using black, such as black paper, black buttons, black lace... and yes, black images. We also had to incorporate "vintage" into the design.  We had to use an image that was old style, b&w.  Then we also had to use one color on our Black and white vintage ATCs.

So...here are my Black and Vintage ATCs! The one that is all copper was the image transfer technique that I wanted to do for all of them...but from 2 failed batches, only one transfer came out properly so I abandoned the idea...for now.. I WILL find a way to master that technique!

Vintage "V"

Evening Friends!

Last Saturday I went to my friend Kathy's B-Day Crop. At her crop, she had a make and take challenge for us to do!

We each received a chipboard letter of our first name and we had to decorate it using distressing, ribbon or lace, embossing, flowers and a button. I did my letter "V" vintage and used some of the baby prima roses that I made on them.Oh I MADE those mini roses from a tutorial that Kathy from Paper Phenomenon did on making knockoff baby Prima roses...IT LOVE making them! I have a bunch in a jar...well so much a bunch cause I RAKed a lot of them away...but LOVE making them and they were perfect for my V..I just distressed them some more to make them more vintage. I followed all the rules except using a button. There was no button appropriate for the vintage theme I wanted to create.

I inked white strands of pearls to make them vintage and added them to my V. The tag reads forever...like V Forever or Forever V... I aged it by crumpling it in a small ball then opening it up and inking with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink...then I misted it with water from my mini mister...let it dry and then misted it again with gold Glimmer Mist. I painted the edges of the "V" with gold metallic acrylic paint by Folk Art (I believe). The paper is from K & Company (I can't remember what paper pad).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out! It now is displayed proudly in my scrap space.

Thanks for looking!
