Karaoke!!

This is a picture of me doing karaoke at one of my friends/co-workers house back in 2007 I think...she was having her first BBQ in her new home and the guys was cracking some joke or something and apparently her then boyfriend...now husband took a pic of me laughing...I DIDN'T even know til after the fact! LOL

It is hard to tell...but the paper I rolled has music notes all over it. It shows a little on the rolled part...
I still want to add some stuff...like a microphone from the Hannah Montana cart and what else do you think I should add? I feel like it is missing something! I wanted to POP another color...like a shimmery red or some peeks of hot pink or something but can't figure where. I was thinking of cutting some stars with the same shimmery silver as I did the word karaoke and adding it...

Artist Trading Cards (ATC)

I have gotten into the wonderful world of ATC's and here are two different series I created for two swaps I am in.

This is my ATC (Artist Trading Card) titled "SPRING" that I created for a swap on Urban Scrappers. This is my first time doing ATCs...it was fun creating this...but WOW a challenge to work in a 2.5" by 3.5" space!!! I used GBS for the shapes, Storybook for the butterfly and the word "spring". I also got over my fear of glimmer mist and misted the patterned paper gold and the misted the flowers colors to compliment the color of the flower ( I know it is hard to see the shimmer and glitter in the pic). I stamped the flourish streaming away from the butterfly a warm red...from my colorbox chalk inks..and embossed the mat under the word spring with the Swiss dots.
Here is a pic of all the ones I made in the series...

For the second ATC swap the theme was Celebrate and this was the first thing to pop in my head! I used a number of techiques on these...from embossing to inking, glossy accents, crackle accents and matte accents! It was a lot of FUN! I enjoyed creating this!

I Absolutely LOVE this picture of The Obama's They look SOOO in love!

RJ Cafe and CNN!

This is a pic of me at RJ Cafe restaurant where my sorority had a Gamma Gathering when we got filmed by CNN...This was in January of this year...So the title is RJ Cafe, GGC and CNN...I have not glued down the word CNN yet because I wanted to find a blackout pic of a video camera to put behind the word. I am also going to add journaling on the blue journal spot and I want to add a cut out for a video camera behind the CNN words but can't find one on the cricut...if anyone knows what cart has that...please let me know!!

You can watch the CNN news clip HERE!

Elmo Card

I made this card to send to my girlfriend that is currently doing a tour in Iraq. It has been rattling around in my head for awhile and I finally cut it!! Isn't Elmo CUTE!! I LOVE Me some ELMO!!

Friend Card

Here is a card I made for a challenge. We were supposed to make a card using 1" squares on it. This is what I came up with...I stamped these cute little purse stamps I have in red and gold ink. Punched the edge with my Fiscars border punch.

Sister to Sister Layout Swap

I believe Back in February I was part of a Layout Swap with some of the wonderful Ladies on Sisters Scrap Too Message Board on the Cricut Website. Come check us out there!  We had to make an 8x8 LO of our self and include our real name, Cricut message board screen name our assigned color (mine was purple) and at least one cut using the Cricut machine. Well I used MANY Cricut cuts and this is the idea I came up with for my LO. I did a play on my screen name. I used many techniques on my LO from inking to adding real sand, using glossy accents on the flower center on the shape of Virginia. That flower represents the Virginia state flower the American Dogwood.

Since my screen name on Sisters Scrap Too is IslandV, It gave me the idea to do an island theme and instead of having an "I", I used the coconut tree as the "I" in island.

I created a pocket behind the picture and Caribbean scene and made a pocket to put a tag with some journaling. I found a friendship poem and modified it to reflect the Cricut Sisters and the Message Board.
I had a lot of fun making this LO! Since I used a paper pack that had different patterns of paper with purple in it, everyone in the swap got the same scene but with a different paper background.
